Welcome to the Egg Harbor Owner’s section on prop’s. As noticed by the many questions within the forum section, we decided further investigation of props were needed. We poled the EHOA membership as to what is happening with their vessels in hopes to demystify the propeller mystery. This section makes no claims as to the exact propeller specifications, but we feel the more you know, the less guesswork it will require to achieve optimum performance.

Our second research project consisted of 1981 and back 33’ vessels. We have a table below that provides you with membership data of engine’s, gear ratio’s and prop size relative to wide open throttle (WOT) and speed.

You must remember that every owner has a different approach to maintenance, extra weight and cruising requirements. Some owners are very careful with measuring the numbers, others know only approximations. But the data is still valuable when viewed overall.

There have been great strides in the manufacturing and testing of inboard propellers these last few years. These new methods have produced claims of improved efficiency and higher cruising speeds. But we must keep in mind the most accurate propeller cannot replace poorly performing power plants, inferior bottom surfaces or over weight vessels.
